History

Established in 1969. Full nude, full contact club opened in 1969 and was named after the world famous movie 2001 Odyssey and housing the famous Tampa Space Ship on it’s roof. Listed as One of the Seven Wonders of Tampa by the Tampa Tribune. Named by TIME Magazine as one of the worlds weirdest strip clubs due to during the late 1960s, Finnish architect Matti Suuronen introduced the Futuro house, a saucer-shaped plastic dwelling. Less than 100 were built and sold around the world. One of those ended up in Tampa, Florida, placed on the roof of the building that is now the 2001 Odyssey Nude Strip Club. Patrons take their favorite entertainers up into the flying saucer for private dances.

2001 Odyssey has been featured in numerous major motion pictures such as The Punisher and The Infiltrator and hilariously mentioned in Sex ED. Also featured in the popular 2003 console video game Tony Hawk’s Underground. Plus countless mentions in the media worldwide. 

Known as Tampa’s only party till the sun comes up location, No Liquor served means no restriction of hours.
